The Gold Industry Group’s annual diversity events were back on the road in 2022 as Let’s Talk Diversity landed in Sydney and Melbourne for an East Coast perspective on the important issue of attracting Gen Z to the gold industry.

After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, more than 100 people converged at Sydney’s Untied Rooftop and Melbourne’s Smith Prahran to hear speakers from a range of backgrounds explore how the gold sector can secure an efficient, skilled, and suitably sized workforce of the future

Diggers and Dealers Gold Wrap 2022

Diggers & Dealers was back bigger than ever in 2022, with more than 2,600 attendees excited to return from around the globe to be at Australia’s pinnacle mining industry conference.

Even the wild weather didn’t impact the mood, with Forum Chairman Jim Walker crediting the record attendance at the iconic three-day Kalgoorlie event to an active and engaged mining industry.

The ground-breaking resource has featured thousands of jobs from 16 leading gold companies since its inception, with recruiters turning their focus to targeted online advertising.

Agnico Eagle lights up Bendigo Easter Festival

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 150th Bendigo Easter Festival was back better than ever in 2022 with Agnico Eagle Fosterville as the major sponsor. There was a popular stand where people could learn about the mine’s operations and community involvement, showbags, a photo scavenger hunt, and a gold planning activity that hundreds of adults and children enthralled each day.

Agnico celebrates 16 years of Fosterville Community Grants Program

Victoria’s largest gold miner, Kirkland Lake Gold, has marked the 16th year of its Fosterville Community Grants Program, awarding a total of 238 local community groups more than $418,600 since 2005.

The aim of the Program is to support projects that provide specific sustainable outcomes which have long-lasting benefits to the wider community.
