Gold Industry Group extends its support for Shooting Stars

The Gold Industry Group (GIG) are thrilled to continue their support of Shooting Stars, empowering Aboriginal girls and women for a further three years, as a Major Partner of the program.

Supporting Shooting Stars since 2019, the GIG was instrumental to the expansion into the Goldfields region enabling the program to launch in Laverton empowering 26 participants across years 4 – 12.

Gold industry backs LIVIN to empower students across Australia to speak up

The Gold Industry Group and LIVIN are set to embark on their third national tour in August, to empower students across Australia to speak up and provide much needed practical tools on mental health through more than 80 relatable workshops.

Approximately one in two Australians experience mental ill health over the course of their lifetime and research suggests that less than 50% of people experiencing mental ill health will access professional support.

In a time where isolation is the norm, it’s important we explore new ways to support and connect with our colleagues, friends and family. As novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) presents us all an unprecedented challenge, it is also bringing us together as we work to stop the spread and keep each other safe.

While in self-isolation, there is no more important time to maintain habits that help us cope but also implement new routines to ensure we stay connected and practice self-care.
