Western Australia’s netball superstars unearthed the State’s golden secrets on an interactive virtual adventure through Perth’s CBD, as they walked the Heart of Gold Discovery Trail.
Armed with the free Heart of Gold Australia app, West Coast Fever players Stacey Francis, Jhaniele Fowler, Verity Charles and Shannon Eagland learnt the rich history and importance of gold to Australia’s future.
Year 5 students from Mount Pleasant Primary School were the lucky recipients of an all-expenses paid excursion on the Perth Heart of Gold Discovery Trail last week.
The excursion prize was one of two won at the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia’s HASS Week Conference in July.

Gibbs Street Primary School won our Hit92.9 launch competition and Swan Valley Anglican Community School won our AISWA Humanities and Social Sciences Conference competition.
The #heartofgold Discovery Trail will be launched in Perth on Saturday 7 October, which is part of a long-term community engagement program aimed at educating and engaging the wider community on the rich history and importance of Australia's gold industry, with a strong focus on educating at a grass roots level.
