Supporting Shooting Stars since 2019, the GIG was instrumental to the expansion into the Goldfields region enabling the program to launch in Laverton empowering 26 participants across years 4 – 12.
Third time lucky for the AngloGold Ashanti Australia Lions, who claimed their first championship title defeating the Gold Fields Agnew Turbines at the 2021 Gold Industry Group Corporate Netball Day.
It was an even start as both the Lions and the Turbines battled it out for gold in from of cheering industry colleagues, but the Lions lifted the bar in the second term securing them a seven-goal victory, 14 - 7.
Shooting Stars Year 11 and 12 leaders gave back to the community as part of the annual Senior Leadership Camp program thanks to the support of Premier Partner, the Gold Industry Group.
While on the camp in May, 16 participants identified a small project that would improve their school, their community or Shooting Stars.

Narrogin Shooting Stars participant Lakkari will receive a team of netball dresses showcasing her design after winning the Gold Industry Group’s NAIDOC competition.
As the Principal Partner of Netball WA, the Gold Industry Group launched a dress design competition at the Netball WA’s NAIDOC Netball Carnival last year which saw Lakkari’s design selected amongst hundreds of entries.
The design used creativity to showcase the importance of Aboriginal culture, gold and netball to the designer.

West Coast Fever players experienced WA’s golden outback in March as they kicked off their preseason, treating the community to two action-packed games in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and a day of community clinics.
